Market Cap

Market capitalization is total value of a company's outstanding shares. Market cap = share price × shares outstanding. Companies are often classified as large-cap ($10B+), mid-cap ($2-10B), or small-cap (under $2B).

Example

A $50 stock with 100M shares = $5 billion market cap.
